Mother’s Day With Sitio Serendipia

In honor of our inaugural Mother’s Day retreat in Oaxaca, Mexico, we hosted a floral arranging experience in partnership with the family pottery cooperative Mujeres del Barro Rojo in San Marcos Tlapazola, and artists Evelyn Alarcon and Boris Furlan of the creative studio Sitio Serendipia.

The class took place in the home studio of the Mujeres del Barro Rojo and the family participated in the experience as well. We styled local flowers using Japanese ikebana principles in the barro rojo ceramic vessels, guided by the Sitio Serendipia team, Evelyn and Boris.

This experience was a beautiful outlet of creative expression, and a bonding moment between mother-daughter pairs and friends alike. Thank you to our co-hosts and participants, and to Boris for documenting the event.
