Santa Maria del Tule, Oaxaca, Mexico
up to 12 residents in each program
Thread Caravan’s textile residency program, TEXERE,
invites residents to work collaboratively and independently,
exploring themes such as textile production processes, materials, social fabric, environment, and biodiversity,
in Santa Maria del Tule, Oaxaca, Mexico.
Join other textile artists alongside TEXERE’s diverse team of coordinators, artists and artisans as we co-create two weeks of textile explorations.
This two week program fuses curated programming with independent time. The Thread Caravan team will integrate guided workshops hosted by local artisans, enriching studio visits with contemporary artists and researchers, and free time for residents to deepen their creative practice. This program is facilitated as a means of education and exchange. We encourage residents to share skills and knowledge with one another and our local collaborators, and we welcome residents of all backgrounds and skill levels.
Guests will be hosted in the town of Santa Maria del Tule, just 20 minutes from the city of Oaxaca, with access to a shared textile studio and a diverse team of textile experts.
