We weave cross-cultural stories, facilitating human connection through the lens of textiles.

We host intimate educational experiences with artists to investigate endemic crafts, seeking to understand how environment shapes textiles, ceramics, cuisine, and culture.

We believe that slow processes and handmade crafts are inherently valuable, and we embrace them as a tool for resisting commodification. Our workshops aim to reconnect us to regionality, which globalization has rendered irrelevant.

We investigate the endemic nature of craft to understand how a distinct place has shaped the work of artisans.

We have a deep reverence for artisans and their skills, and we believe learning about craft from local artists is a lever for meaningful connection and dignified travel.

r e s p e c t

We are humbled to work alongside artists at the forefront of preserving their craft. Our collaborations often take place in artisans’ homes, surrounded by family and community members, where we’re able to express our shared interest and admiration for these craft processes. Thread Caravan values the skills and ancestral knowledge of the artists with whom we partner, honoring the people and hands behind their art.

We are fascinated by how environmental and cultural context shapes craft. Thread Caravan workshops investigate the regionality of craft and seek to understand how the distinct nature of a place has shaped the work of artisans.

We value processes over outcome. We invite our guests to honor ancestral craft by participating in face-to-face collaboration with local artisans. Our workshops encourage playful exploration and facilitate a creative exchange between guests and artisans and among one another.
