A kernos to celebrate Greece’s olive oil harvest
After wildfires devastated parts of Greece, writer Isabella Zampetaki turned to an ancient ritual for solace. Inspired by the kernos—a vessel used in Greek harvest ceremonies—she crafted her own and filled it with olives, oil, and soil. Now, she travels across Greece, gathering offerings and stories from olive growers, celebrating resilience and tradition.
